Cord & Charm Bracelet Guide: Sizing, Materials & Care
Every bracelet in our Eden Lily handmade cord collection is individually created with care, combining beautiful cord colours, decorative beads and thoughtful little details.
Some designs feature charms, while others focus on colourful beads, delicate knotting and simple, elegant finishes.
Depending on your chosen bracelet, you may be able to personalise the cord colours, bead colours or add a meaningful engraved detail.
As every bracelet is handmade rather than mass-produced, no two pieces will ever be completely identical — and we think that's part of what makes them special.
This guide explains our materials, sizing, personalisation options and how to care for your handmade bracelet.
How Our Bracelets Are Made
Our cord bracelets are carefully handmade using nylon jewellery cord, with different knotting and weaving techniques depending on the design.
Some bracelets feature decorative beads, while others include charms or additional details.
Depending on the style, your bracelet may be finished with:
An adjustable sliding closure
A lobster clasp and extension chain
Decorative beads
Stainless-steel charms or other jewellery components
Not every bracelet includes all of these features.
Each design is created individually, and the product listing will explain exactly what's included and which options you can customise.
Because our bracelets are handmade, you may notice small variations in the knotting, bead placement or finished measurements. These are natural characteristics of handmade jewellery.
Materials
Depending on the design, our handmade cord bracelets may include:
Nylon cord
Decorative pearl-style beads
Glass or other decorative beads
Stainless-steel jewellery components
Stainless-steel charms in selected silver or gold-tone finishes
Lobster clasps and extension chains
Adjustable sliding knot closures
The materials used will vary between bracelet designs.
Nylon cord is lightweight, strong and flexible, making it a lovely choice for comfortable everyday jewellery.
Please check the individual product description for the materials and features included in your chosen bracelet.
Understanding Bracelet Sizes
Choosing the right bracelet size helps ensure a comfortable fit.
As our collection includes different bracelet styles and fastening methods, the way a bracelet is measured may vary depending on the design.
Bracelets With Lobster Clasps
For bracelets featuring a lobster clasp and extension chain, the stated bracelet length refers to the main wearable bracelet, including the clasp but excluding the extension chain.
For example, a 7-inch bracelet measures approximately 7 inches from the outer end of the clasp to the point where the extension chain begins.
The extension chain provides additional adjustment.
Adjustable Sliding Closure Bracelets
Some of our handmade cord bracelets feature an adjustable sliding knot closure.
This allows the bracelet to open wider so it can be slipped over your hand and then gently tightened around your wrist.
Unlike a traditional clasp bracelet, the overall length of the cord when fully opened is not the same as the bracelet's wearable circumference.
For these designs, the important measurement is the circumference around the inside of the bracelet when worn.
The available adjustment range and sizing information will be shown on the individual product listing.
Please check the sizing details for your chosen design, as not all bracelets use the same fastening or measurements.
How to Measure Your Wrist
The easiest way to find your bracelet size is to use a flexible measuring tape.
Wrap the measuring tape around your wrist where you would normally wear your bracelet.
Make sure the tape sits comfortably against your skin without pulling it too tightly.
Make a note of your wrist measurement.
Check the sizing information on your chosen bracelet listing.
For bracelets that require you to select a finished length, you may prefer to allow a little additional room depending on how fitted or loose you like your jewellery.
For adjustable bracelets, check that your wrist measurement falls within the stated adjustment range.
If you're unsure which size to choose, please contact us before ordering and we'll be happy to help.
Choosing Your Cord Colours
One of the loveliest things about handmade cord bracelets is choosing colours that suit your personal style.
You might prefer soft neutral shades, delicate pastel colours or something brighter and more colourful.
Depending on the design, you may be able to choose:
A single cord colour
Two coordinating cord colours
Contrasting colours for a more colourful finish
Some bracelet designs feature a specific colour arrangement, while others offer more flexibility.
Our available colour options will be displayed on the individual product page.
Please remember that colours may appear slightly different depending on your phone, computer screen and lighting.
Choosing Your Beads
Beads can completely change the appearance of a handmade cord bracelet.
Some designs feature delicate pearl-style beads, while others include colourful beads, decorative shapes or smaller accent beads.
Depending on your chosen bracelet, you may be able to select certain bead colours.
Not all beads are customisable.
Some bracelets feature smaller decorative beads that are already part of the design, while allowing you to choose the colour of the larger beads.
Other designs may have fixed bead combinations that cannot be changed.
Each product page will clearly explain which bead options are available.
As beads can vary slightly between batches, there may be small differences in colour, shape or finish.
These natural variations help give each handmade bracelet its own character.
Choosing Your Charm
Selected bracelets feature decorative charms, including designs such as hearts and paw prints.
Depending on the bracelet, charms may be available in silver or gold-tone finishes.
Some of our smaller charms, including selected 10mm round charms, may also offer personalised engraving.
Due to their size, engraving space is limited, so simple details such as an initial or number may be more suitable.
Names or other engravings will only be available where the individual product listing offers them.
Please note that not every cord bracelet includes a charm or offers charm personalisation.
Some designs are intentionally created without charms, allowing the colours, beads and knotting to be the main feature.
The product photographs and description will show exactly what is included with your chosen bracelet.
Handmade Means Unique
One of the things we love most about handmade jewellery is that every piece has its own character.
Your bracelet is individually created rather than mass-produced, which means:
Knotting and weaving may vary slightly.
Bead positions may not be identical to the photographs.
Individual beads may have subtle differences in colour or shape.
Finished measurements may vary slightly due to the handmade process.
These small differences are part of the charm of handmade jewellery.
We take care to ensure each bracelet is finished neatly and made to reflect the design you've chosen.
Caring for Your Handmade Cord Bracelet
With a little care, your bracelet can continue looking beautiful.
To help protect your jewellery, we recommend:
Removing your bracelet before showering, swimming or bathing.
Avoiding prolonged exposure to water.
Removing it before exercising or activities where it could become caught or pulled.
Avoiding direct contact with perfume, hairspray, creams and cleaning products.
Gently patting the bracelet dry if it becomes wet and allowing it to air dry naturally.
Storing your bracelet somewhere clean and dry when not being worn.
Avoiding excessive pulling on the cords, beads, charms or fastenings.
Caring for Adjustable Sliding Closures
If your bracelet has an adjustable sliding closure, gently pull the appropriate cords to loosen or tighten it.
Avoid pulling too firmly or forcing the knots, as this may damage the cord or affect the closure over time.
Caring for Beads and Charms
Although our jewellery components are chosen for everyday wear, decorative finishes and beads should still be treated with care.
Avoid harsh cleaning products or abrasive cloths, particularly on plated or decorative finishes.
A soft, dry cloth is usually suitable for gently cleaning the metal components.
A Bracelet Made Your Way
Our handmade cord bracelet collection is all about creating little pieces of jewellery that feel personal.
Whether you're choosing your favourite colours, coordinating beautiful beads, selecting a meaningful charm or keeping things simple, there's something special about wearing jewellery that's been handmade just for you.

Whatever your style, we hope you'll find a bracelet that makes you smile.
