QR & Memory Page Storage Policy
Last updated: March 2026
This policy explains how EdenLily manages the digital content stored on QR-linked pages (Memory Pages, Biographies, Medical Details and Forwarding Links) associated with EdenLily jewellery. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.
1. What Is a QR Page?
When you purchase any eligible EdenLily piece with a QR code add-on, a unique UUID-based URL is permanently laser-engraved into your jewellery. When that QR code is scanned for the first time, the recipient claims the page and chooses one of four page types:
- Memory Page — a private photo album organised by events/dates
- Biography — a life story / tribute page
- Medical Details — allergies, conditions, blood type, emergency contacts
- Forwarding Link — a silent redirect to any URL
2. Photo Quota
Each QR memory page includes a base allowance of 40 photographs across all events. This covers the standard use case of a personal memory album. Photos must be uploaded in a supported format (JPEG, PNG or WebP) and are automatically resized and compressed on upload. The maximum file size per upload is 10 MB before compression.
Forwarding Link, Biography and Medical Details page types do not use the photo quota, as they do not host image files.
3. Extra Storage
If you need more than 40 photos you can purchase additional storage at any time from your dashboard. Extra storage is sold in increments and will be available for purchase within the account settings. Pricing is displayed at the point of purchase and is subject to change for new purchases (but not for already-purchased storage).
4. Storage Retention Period
Your QR page content is retained for 24 months (2 years) from the date the QR page is first claimed. This period covers the standard lifespan of a memory page and ensures we can keep running costs sustainable for a physical-product business.
Before the expiry date we will send a reminder email to the registered account email address. The reminder schedule is:
- 90 days before expiry
- 30 days before expiry
- 7 days before expiry
5. Renewing Your Storage
You may renew your QR page for additional periods of 12 months at a time at any point — either before or up to 30 days after the expiry date. Renewals are processed via the same payment methods available at checkout. Pricing for renewals will be displayed within your account dashboard.
Renewal keeps all existing content, settings and privacy preferences intact so your page continues uninterrupted.
6. What Happens at Expiry
If a QR page is not renewed within 30 days of its expiry date, the following applies:
- The page will be placed in a grace period state. It will display a notice to anyone scanning the QR code, but content will not yet be deleted.
- If no renewal is made by the end of the grace period, all uploaded photos, captions, event data, biography text and medical details stored on that page will be permanently deleted.
- The QR code itself remains permanently engraved in the jewellery, and the URL remains reserved. If you later create a new account or log back in, you may reclaim the page — but previously deleted content cannot be recovered.
- Forwarding Link pages expire in the same way; after expiry the QR code will redirect to the EdenLily homepage rather than the configured URL.
7. Transferring a QR Page
The QR page belongs to the account that first claimed it. If you wish to transfer ownership — for example, if the jewellery is re-gifted — please contact us at hello@edenlily.co.uk. Transfers are handled manually and are subject to verification.
8. Privacy & Security of Stored Content
- Photos and page content are stored on our hosting infrastructure in the United Kingdom. All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
- Medical Details pages default to “Owner Only” privacy. We strongly recommend keeping medical pages in this mode unless you specifically need first responders to be able to access them.
- You can delete individual photos, events or your entire page at any time from your dashboard. Deleted content is removed immediately and cannot be recovered.
- Visitor-uploaded photos (when the feature is enabled) are stored under your page quota and subject to the same retention and deletion rules as owner-uploaded photos.
9. Service Availability
EdenLily makes reasonable efforts to keep QR pages available at all times, but does not guarantee 100% uptime. Planned maintenance will be communicated in advance where possible. EdenLily is not liable for temporary unavailability of QR pages, provided this does not constitute a prolonged or repeated failure to provide the service.
10. Discontinuation of Service
In the unlikely event that EdenLily discontinues the QR page hosting service, we will provide a minimum of 12 months’ notice by email, during which time you will be able to download all your content. We will issue a pro-rata refund for any prepaid storage that covers the period after service termination.
